The EGO wants run riot with the capitalist system. But in time of war wants are superseded by just needs and most people are employed by the Government and the economy prospers. But wants are the basis of the capitalist system (war is an anomaly to the capitalist system. People sacrifice wants for needs in time of war) as wants are what gives purpose to people to work hard (in war people work hard but it’s for defence, a need). Progress is not just about needs its mostly about wants

What I cannot understand is how did the USA become so wealthy after a big war, ww2. Before ww2 the USA was just coming out of a depression. In other words the USA was economically mentally sick. But with war, ww2, the USA quickly recovered economically mentally.

The USA was spending like very big over this war. The Government in ww2 were controlling the economy and yet there was no cry of socialism. No cry the left were controlling business. The Government were spending big but where was the money coming from; surely not just from war bonds.

What this makes me think is Government can buy themselves out of depression. Yes a mentally depressed person can buy themselves out of depression. Give the mentally sick much much much money and they are are okay. The USA was okay after ww2. Are the rich depressed? The USA was rich after ww2 and it was not depressed. So economics is ambiguous.

You can buy a country out of depression, a low. You can create your own high. The USA was high after ww2. The USA has been on a high ever since. Money can give a high. Government can just print as much money as they like. Government can make money. Poor people can be depressed (low) but can rich people be depressed as well? Maybe the rich are on a high.

Government can spend, spend big, but with too much Government spend comes inflation, the balloon gets too big, the ego balloon gets too big. People have much money and it goes to their head, ego is enlarged.

But in ww2 we had little ego. But in ww2 nearly all people were working, mainly for the Government in the military. Wages were locked. Prices were locked.

We have a socialist state of affairs but it was working. People had purpose, the country is cohesive, people worked hard, people did not protest low wages, businesses did not raise prices.

In an economy not at war we have a competition between prices and wages. In such an economy prices and wages are not fixed.

War brings people together in a nation(s). People are not so greedy in time of war. We have a ration system. The Government makes sure all people are fed, clothed, and sheltered. All adults worked.

Alas the big war time economic system does not work outside of a big war. In war people do not covet nor are greedy, people get their basic needs and are content with that. After war in peace time people go back to wants. It’s like naughty children saying to their parents “I want this I want that”. Children are always wanting. Children see something and they want it.

So an efficient economy is based on needs not wants. Ego always wants. Just as an efficient mind is based on needs not wants. The mentally sick can be about wants not needs. The wise are more about needs not wants. Older people are wiser as they drop off most attachments of this world, forgo idols, forgo wants. Children are about wants. The mature and wise are more about needs. Don’t carry all the baggage, you cannot take it with you to the “next life”. Children, the immature, covet all they can get in this world, but as they get older they get wiser and drop off the baggage the older they get the more accumulated baggage they drop off.

Ego is sinful old nature self, ego is not Christ nature self. Christ is not ego. A sick economy is a selfish economy.
